DevOps Engineer Role

Broadstone Technologies is seeking a motivated individual for the DevOps Engineer position. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our systems and infrastructure.

This is an opportunity for a self-starter to explore new challenges in a dynamic and collaborative work environment. You will be responsible for maintaining and improving Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using tools like GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or CircleCI.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning with Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
  • Manage cloud services preferably using Amazon Web Services (AWS), Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Monitor applications and infrastructure using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Elasticsearch Logstash Kibana (ELK), Datadog, or CloudWatch.
  • Containerize and orchestrate applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues, perform root cause analysis.
  • Write and maintain documentation for infrastructure and deployment processes.
  • Collaborate with developers for performance optimization and reliability improvements.
  • Ensure security best practices are followed across DevOps pipelines.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Two+ years of hands-on experience in a DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering role.
  • Solid understanding of Linux administration and shell scripting.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.
  • Proficient in at least one infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tool e.g. Terraform, Ansible.
  • Working knowledge of container technologies Docker, Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with networking concepts DNS load balancing firewalls.
  • Experience with version control systems like Git.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with logging and monitoring stacks ELK Grafana Datadog.
  • Exposure to cloud-native services e.g Lambda Fargate Cloud Run.
  • Experience with secrets management tools like Vault AWS Secrets Manager.
  • Scripting in Python Bash or Go for automation.
  • Knowledge of Zero Downtime Deployments and Blue-Green Canary deployments.
  • Knowledge of Linux is a strong plus.
Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field or equivalent experience.
