Job Description

The role of the Project Director involves overseeing the planning, execution, and finalization of projects within strict deadlines. This includes procuring resources and coordinating team members and third-party contractors to deliver projects according to plan.

The Project Director will also define project objectives and ensure quality control throughout its lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage project development from initiation to completion.
  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that align with business objectives in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Establish comprehensive project plans and associated communications documents.
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear manner.
  • Maintain regular communication with project stakeholders.
  • Evaluate resource requirements to achieve project goals.
  • Prepare and submit budget proposals as needed.
  • Negotiate with other department managers for personnel acquisition when necessary.
  • Participate in software analysis, design, development, and support activities in accordance with development and quality standards.
  • Determine and assess the need for additional staff or consultants during the project cycle.
  • Set and manage project expectations with team members and stakeholders.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
  • Identify and resolve conflicts within the project team.
  • Manage project dependencies and critical path.
  • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using relevant tools.
  • Track project milestones and deliverables.
  • Develop and present progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
  • Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyze results, and address problem areas.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope and identify potential crises.
  • Develop contingency plans to mitigate risks.
  • Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coach, mentor, motivate, and supervise project team members and contractors to take ownership of their work.
  • Foster and develop essential business relationships for project success.
  • Conduct post-project reviews to identify successful and unsuccessful elements.
  • Document best practices and tools for project execution and management.
