The Division

SIW software is a division of N. Harris Computer Corporation Harris an operating group of Constellation Software Inc. We provide innovative solutions to optimize a utility's billing financial asset management and energy management workflows. In addition we offer turnkey business process outsourcing solution for billing and customer care for energy traders and other market participants.

The Position

We are looking for a Senior Software Developer to work out of the Contour Software Lahore/Islamabad resource center office as an extension of the division-based R&D department.

Responsibilities

  • Review business requirements and participate in technical designs.
  • Review technical requirements and participate in story creation and estimates.
  • Provide input and guidance on technologies/designs/patterns.
  • Develop solutions per business requirements technical designs and best practices.
  • Actively participate in all meetings conducted for requirements gathering and building product understanding.
  • Prepare solution documentation as and when needed.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance QA to ensure proper knowledge transfer deployment and setup.

Desired Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems Computer Engineering or equivalent technical degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 6+ years of experience developing complex enterprise applications.
  • Strong understanding and experience of PL/SQL Oracle database development.
  • Strong understanding and experience of query writing query optimization and best practices.
  • Strong understanding and experience of working with large databases.
  • Good understanding and experience of Object-Oriented programming coding best practices with Java.
  • Understanding of German language is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of architecture and design patterns.
  • Excellent Problem-Solving skills.
  • Good debugging and trouble shooting skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to work with distributed team in Germany allowing 7 hours of overlap on daily basis e.g start work day from 11am or 12pm Pakistan Time.
