We are seeking a skilled Medical Coding Specialist to support our healthcare operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Extract relevant information from patient records, including diagnoses and procedures, to assign accurate codes.
  • Ensure all necessary data is present in patient documents, collaborating with healthcare staff if needed.
  • Assign proper codes for procedures, services, diagnoses, and anesthesia using systems like CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10-CM, and ASA.
  • Assign APC and DRG codes for outpatient and inpatient services, respectively, to ensure correct billing.
  • Verify accuracy and grammar in documents to maintain professional standards.
  • Perform chart audits to confirm the right codes are applied and billing accuracy is maintained.
  • Provide guidance and training to physicians and staff on proper coding practices and procedures.
  • Report technical issues related to coding software or equipment to ensure prompt resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with guidelines and internal policies to avoid errors and ensure proper reimbursement.

We require a strong understanding of medical coding guidelines, policies, and regulations, including HIPAA compliance and industry standards. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and strong problem-solving abilities. Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and coding software is necessary.

Requirements:
  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, preferably in healthcare or medical coding.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in medical coding, specifically with CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10-CM, ASA, APC, and DRG coding.
  • Proficiency in medical coding systems, including CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10-CM, ASA, APC, and DRG.
  • Strong understanding of medical coding guidelines, policies, and healthcare regulations.
