Key Responsibilities:

  • Integrate user-facing elements with backend functionality
  • Design efficient, testable, and reusable code modules
  • Solve complex performance problems and architectural challenges
  • Integrate data storage solutions and ensure seamless data flow
  • Familiarity with common security vulnerabilities and their mitigation strategies
  • Understand fundamental design principles behind a scalable application architecture
  • User authentication and authorization between multiple systems and environments
  • Integrate multiple data sources and databases into a unified system
  • Familiarity with limitations of PHP as a platform and its workarounds
  • Create database schemas that represent and support business processes
  • Familiarity with SQL databases and their declarative query languages
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
  • Create effective, flexible, reusable, testable, and scalable code
  • Analyze application needs and requirements from teams and clients
  • Design and build scalable web applications
  • Define and maintain databases
  • Maintain and enhance code quality
  • Integrate payment gateways with eCommerce platforms
  • Set coding standards and connect applications with third-party services
  • Resolve complicated performance issues and architectural problems
  • Write well-designed backend code and create backend portals with modular architecture
  • Adhere to industry standard best practices
  • Ensure testing and maintenance for optimized code
  • Prepare accurate documentation for different tools and services
  • Deploy code to live environment

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and a passion for programming
  • 3-5 years of experience in backend development

Technical Skills:

  • PHP CORE and frameworks like Laravel, CodeIgniter
  • Understanding of synchronous behavior of PHP
  • PHP web frameworks like Laravel, CodeIgniter, Yii
  • Web servers and database languages
  • Object-oriented PHP programming
  • Code versioning tools like CVS, SVN, Git
  • Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases
  • Integration of databases and data sources into a unified system
  • Integration with third-party APIs like Facebook, Google
  • Automated testing frameworks like PHPUnit etc
  • Data structure and algorithms
  • Knowledge of AJAX, jQuery, MySQL
  • Scaling and tuning database applications, modeling, performance optimization
