Business Development Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a seasoned business development professional to drive growth and expansion. As a Business Development Specialist, you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing strategies to pursue them, and implementing plans to achieve success.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business development, finance, or related fields, with 1-2 years of experience in deal sourcing or business development. They will also possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand complex topics across climate, sustainability, and finance.

You will work closely with our leadership team to develop and execute business development strategies, identify new markets and opportunities, and maintain accurate and up-to-date information on leads in our CRM system.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough research on target industries, companies, and key decision-makers.
  • Identify potential leads through various online and offline channels.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date information on leads in the CRM system.
  • Assist in qualifying leads based on predefined criteria.
  • Send initial outreach emails or make introductory calls to potential leads.
  • Support our leadership team in other aspects of business development as needed.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in deal sourcing or business development, ideally in an investment (VC/PE/Credit, etc.) environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to understand complex topics across climate, sustainability, and finance.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple client engagements effectively.
  • Proficiency in using CRM and prospecting tools (e.g., LinkedIn, CRM software).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
