Job Title: Senior Tax Consultant – Business Tax Advisory

Tax has six key service lines covering a wide range of issues: Business Tax Services, Global Compliance and Reporting, Global Law, Indirect Tax, International Tax and Transaction Services, and People Advisory Services.

The Opportunity

As a member of our BTA tax service line, you will work with organizations and individuals to structure transactions and operations in a tax-efficient manner, mitigating tax risk and ensuring compliance with tax laws.

You will assist businesses in meeting complex demands for tax reporting, compliance, planning, strategy, and controversy.

You will be responsible for coordinating service delivery, issue resolution, and contract management of projects, drafting tax advisory memos and reports to address client concerns.

Your Key Responsibilities

1. You will prepare tax research memos and tax advisory reports, and assist with local state tax return preparation. You will also attend meetings with the local Tax Authority on client-related tax matters.
2. You will establish and maintain valued internal and external relationships to ensure high-quality services delivered to clients.
3. You will supervise client engagements, monitor progress, and deliverables, putting in place standardized processes, anticipating and identifying risks, escalating issues as appropriate, and driving performance-improvement solutions.
4. You will support the team in marketing and business development initiatives to grow our BTA client base and build a positive learning culture by coaching and counseling junior team members.
5. You will ensure adherence to our Tax Quality guidelines.

Skills and Qualifications

To excel in this role, you will need excellent communication and analytical skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively across borders with a diverse network of people.

Requirements

1. A bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance, law, taxation, or a related field.
2. Preferably an MBA, Master's, LLM, or another related advanced degree and/or professional certification.
3. A strong knowledge and minimum 2 years of experience in Corporate Tax, ideally within a large professional services company or similar environment.
