Project Manager Job Description

1. Develop and promote democratic values among youth in Pakistan through programme development.

  • Develop key community contacts and resources to set up democratic education-focused projects in 18 districts of Pakistan, implementing the project according to the work plan provided by Youth Parliament of Pakistan Head Office.
  • Motivate young people to become part of YPP and participate in its activities.
  • Lead and manage a team of registered members of Youth Parliament of Pakistan, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Consult with the community and registered members for project planning and implementation, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Solicit support from local chambers of commerce, industry, and other potential supporters for project execution and success.
2. Facilitate Training and Learning
  • Deliver and facilitate training courses during the project, focusing on skill development and capacity building.
  • Collaborate with other District Youth Assemblies and international partners for community orientation and knowledge sharing.
  • Assist Youth Assembly members in identifying personal objectives and facilitating their learning, promoting self-directed growth and development.
  • Promote understanding of global and cross-cultural issues among members, fostering empathy and tolerance.
3. Communication with Youth Parliament of Pakistan
  • Keep the Youth Parliament informed about the progress of Youth Assemblies, providing regular updates and reports.
  • Represent Youth Assemblies in communications with stakeholders, ensuring effective representation and advocacy.
  • Engage the community and stakeholders in social action interventions, promoting positive change and impact.
4. Project Management
  • Ensure proper project implementation through administrative functions, such as budgeting and resource allocation.
  • Prepare weekly/monthly work plans, setting clear goals and objectives for project completion.
  • Document processes and procedures, maintaining accurate records and databases.
  • Prepare analytical reports on field activities monthly, evaluating project performance and impact.
5. Budget Management
  • Manage daily finances and present monthly accounts, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Adhere to financial audit processes of Youth Parliament of Pakistan, maintaining compliance and regulatory requirements.
6. Monitoring and Evaluation
  • Monitor project success and impact, assessing progress towards goals and objectives.
  • Assist Youth Assembly members in self-evaluation, providing feedback and coaching for improvement.
  • Regularly assess the implementation and impact of activities, making adjustments as needed for optimal results.
Job Specification
  • Minimum master's degree in social sciences or related field, demonstrating relevant academic preparation.
  • 3-4 years of community development experience, preferably with NGOs working on youth empowerment and community mobilization, showcasing professional expertise.
  • Strong interpersonal, managerial, planning, documentation, and reporting skills, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Experience in networking and coordination with sector organizations, promoting partnerships and collaborations.
  • Proven leadership and teamwork abilities, demonstrating ability to lead and manage teams effectively.
  • Initiative, facilitation skills, and efficiency, promoting proactive and results-driven approach.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, ensuring effective representation and advocacy.
  • Proficiency in Urdu and English; knowledge of local language is a plus, promoting cultural competence and understanding.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, utilizing technology to enhance productivity and efficiency.
