Sales and Marketing Communications Manager

  • Directly leads the development of integrated communication strategies to amplify visibility of food security, climate resilience, and sustainable agriculture initiatives.
  • Ensures alignment with corporate communication priorities, SDG messaging, and country program objectives.
  • Liaises with media representatives, government counterparts, development partners, UN agencies, and FAO HQ and regional offices to elevate visibility of initiatives.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develops and implements large-scale national communication campaigns for international days, global launches, or flagship program milestones.
  • Designs multi-channel approaches incorporating traditional, digital, events, influencer/advocacy engagement with measurable results frameworks.
  • Produces high-level communication reports and success metrics for donors, senior management, and external partners.
  • Leads crisis and risk communication efforts, developing key messaging, FAQs, and protocols in coordination with the crisis management team and relevant UN entities.
  • Drives digital communication innovation, including social media analytics, digital storytelling formats, and data visualization to enhance user engagement and information accessibility.
  • Develops tailored visibility and communication plans for donor-funded projects, ensuring compliance with visibility guidelines and amplifying donor contributions through targeted narratives.
  • Leverages capacity-building initiatives for FAO staff and partners on effective communication skills, storytelling, media engagement, and digital communication.
  • Maintains internal communications systems, channels, and protocols within the FAO country office and field teams.

Requirements:

  • Advanced degree in Communications, Journalism, or Media Studies.
  • Minimum eight years of progressively responsible work experience at the national level in strategic communication.
  • Strong writing & communications skills, with ability to work in multi-disciplinary and multicultural teams.
  • Experience in digital strategy, storytelling, and creating content for various communication products is an asset.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and speaking skills in English and Urdu.

Key Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in Communications and media relations.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Language Skills:

  • Working knowledge of English.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and speaking skills in English and Urdu.

Nationality:

  • National of Pakistan.
