IT Audit Leadership Position

This leadership role is responsible for supporting senior management in conducting annual audits to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and identify areas for improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing an annual risk-based internal audit plan to cover technical operations
  • Participating in audit planning meetings to understand relevant audit risks and define roles and responsibilities
  • Preparing pre-audit planning presentations to discuss potential audit risks and scope, timelines, and logistics
  • SUPPORTING THE TEAM LEAD IN IDENTIFYING RISKS AND CONTROLS FOR PROCESSES IN EACH AUDIT ENGAGEMENT AND PREPARATION OF AUDIT PROGRAMS FOR DOCUMENTATION OF RISKS, CONTROL DESIGNS, AND TESTING DURING THE FIELDWORK STAGE
  • Ensuring that the annual risk assessment is in place and preparing annual audit plans for the audit of departments
  • Performing audit fieldwork in accordance with the annual audit plan, executing audit procedures, and testing controls in accordance with defined audit methodology and agreed timelines
  • Executing comprehensive risk-based operational audits to maximize company performance and control while minimizing risk
  • Ensuring that departments, functions, and businesses operate consistently, complying with laws, regulations, and company policies and procedures
  • Conducting physical surveys and operations work at fields and departments, including Cathodic Protection, ROW, and DI shop, Meter Manufacturing Plant, and pipeline network rehabilitation
  • Supporting senior management in evaluating operational policies and procedures across the organization in terms of risk to the organization and establishing controls to mitigate potential loss
  • Monitoring and controlling the smooth conduct of operational audits, ensuring rigorous execution with minimal disruptions to routine or day-to-day operations
  • Developing a detailed understanding of activities under audit, including technical risks, project risks, operations risks, and necessary controls to achieve audit quality standards
  • Assessing and reporting compliance with operational regulations and controls through executing operational audits
  • Preparing formal written reports expressing opinions on the adequacy and effectiveness of systems and efficiency of activity execution, submitting drafts for review and final approval of Internal Audit department management
  • Monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) during Operational Audits and recommending plans and initiatives for improvement
  • Working with auditee department management to set appropriate timelines for implementing audit recommendations, maintaining periodic follow-ups to check if agreed corrective actions have been taken and are effective
  • Identifying risks in internal audit observations and communicating to concerned levels of management for risk management
  • Ensuring compliance to the Enterprise Risk Management Framework and Business Principles and Ethics Policy/Code of Conduct
  • Undertaking any other assignment as instructed by senior management
