**Job Requirements**

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to fill the role of Assurance Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading on quality management systems in the Assurance team, managing document control, maintaining central lists of documents, coordinating work between document owners, communicating updates and versions to users, and ensuring consistent high-quality assurance implementation globally.

The Assurance Manager will also develop guidance and provide training to country teams on new processes, support annual planning and budgeting for assurance functions at headquarters, and respond to queries internally and externally about the assurance program. They will contribute to the overall global Assurance team and work closely with other Better Cotton functions and departments to collaborate on cross-functional initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead on quality management systems in the Assurance team
  • Manage document control and maintenance of central lists of documents
  • Coordinate work between document owners and communicate updates and versions to users
  • Ensure consistent high-quality assurance implementation globally

Requirements

  • University degree or equivalent higher education qualification in a relevant field
  • Work experience with a substantial timeframe in relevant field (standards and certification, auditing, sustainable development, etc.)
  • Fluent English language skills with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in project management in an international context
  • Excellent understanding of assurance in the context of global commodity value chains
  • Strong understanding of basic auditing approaches and principles
  • Balanced strategic thinking with attention to detail
  • Able to critically appraise arguments, organize ideas, and draw conclusions
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to finding solutions
  • Proven organizational abilities, handling competing priorities and managing multiple projects
  • Collaborative mindset, building relationships across different teams and cultures
  • Good communication skills for various audiences
  • Ability to work autonomously and adapt to changing priorities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
  • Academic background in rural/agricultural development and sustainability
  • Direct experience working with farmers or farming communities
  • Advanced numerical skills and data analysis experience
  • Competency in languages relevant to Better Cotton countries
