Job Title: Senior IFRS Reporting Professional

Job Description:

We are seeking a seasoned IFRS reporting professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in technical accounting and a deep understanding of IFRS standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive IFRS technical accounting assessments for Group transactions, preparing high-quality supporting position papers and presenting to key stakeholders.
  • Prepare and review Group statutory annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and local GAAP requirements.
  • Review and execute quarterly financial reporting controls and procedures to support the preparation and review of Group financial statements.
  • Collaborate as a strategic business partner for ongoing projects, providing expert IFRS accounting advice on complex areas.
  • Review and coordinate Treasury accounting matters, including incremental borrowing rate and fair value of Group Debt.
  • Support Operating Companies in applying and complying with IFRS on non-routine transactions, ensuring proper accounting treatment.
  • Monitor changes in IFRS pronouncements, assessing their impact on the VEON Group and updating the Accounting Manual.
  • Assist with annual impairment testing, including valuation review, and quarterly impairment triggering assessment.

Requirements:

  • Extensive IFRS technical accounting expertise, knowledge, and application.
  • Accounting certification (ACCA, CPA, RA) is required.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in similar roles or within a Big 4 firm.
  • Experience in researching and concluding on technical and complex accounting matters.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask priorities, and meet strict deadlines.
  • Strong project management and relationship building skills.
  • Analytical and conceptual thinking.
  • Proactive and self-starter, ability to work independently.
  • Collaborative team member.
  • Experience working in multicultural environments.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills in English.
