The Network Technician II role is a dynamic position that requires the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of digital Central Office equipment and facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install and maintain digital CO equipment and transmission facilities, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Perform routine maintenance on power supply equipment, including rectifiers, generators, and batteries to prevent downtime and reduce costs.
  • Test and evaluate the performance of subscriber line equipment, switching gear, and common equipment to identify areas for improvement.

Troubleshooting and Repair

  • Analyze and resolve complex technical issues with CO equipment and transmission facilities using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques.
  • Repair and replace faulty equipment, including power supply units and distribution panels to minimize disruptions and ensure continuity of services.

Record-Keeping and Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of equipment performance, repairs, and maintenance activities to facilitate data-driven decision making.
  • Prepare regular reports for stakeholders on system status, job progress, and maintenance forecasts to ensure transparency and accountability.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including network management and finance, to evaluate the cost-effectiveness of various carriers and systems.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to plan and execute service installations and materials requisitioning to meet business objectives.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Perform emergency repairs as required, using knowledge of electrical circuitry and system applications to mitigate risks and ensure business continuity.
  • Establish and maintain efficient record-keeping systems for CO and transmission facilities to optimize resource allocation and reduce waste.
