OpenShift Specialist

Job Description

As an OpenShift Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting and deploying OpenShift solutions. You will have a hands-on role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our OpenShift infrastructure.

The successful candidate will act as the primary on-site, Red Hat subject matter expert and point of contact for communication, accountability, and escalation paths.

You will assist with the containerization of application and building CI/CD with the application team. This includes assisting with RBAC for Common Requirements (Project User, Project Admin, Cluster Admin etc.). Additionally, you will assist with new projects onboarding for OpenShift and deployment of Red Hat OpenShift containers.

Your responsibilities will include assisting with the deployment of Red Hat OpenShift clusters, Persistent volumes configurations, project creations and node mapping. You will also provide day-2 support, re-configuration, and planning Red Hat OpenShift operating environment. Furthermore, you will assist with providing Red Hat OpenShift performance tuning and optimization, performing system diagnosis and resolution of Red Hat OpenShift related issues, upgrades and patches installation, and onboarding of tenants on OpenShift clusters. Finally, you will assist with the deployment of additional nodes and automation in different areas of application backend.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need between 0-3 years of experience working with OpenShift. Strong experience in Linux/Unix administration and shell scripting is essential. You should also have experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, Git, Ansible, Docker, and Kubernetes. A solid understanding of networking concepts, technologies, and protocols is required. Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP is also beneficial. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills are necessary, as well as strong managerial skills and ability to take ownership of projects and responsibilities. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English are required.
