Data Center Engineer is a role that involves managing, maintaining, and supporting the data center environment to ensure optimal performance, availability, and security of systems and infrastructure. This position requires strong technical knowledge and skills in server hardware, storage systems, virtualization platforms, and network protocols.

About the Role

This is a full-time, onsite role based at our Head Office in Lahore. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring system performance, ensuring high availability and reliability, implementing and managing backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures, coordinating with vendors for equipment maintenance and support, and ensuring compliance with security protocols and data center best practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and monitor data center hardware, network infrastructure, and environmental systems.
  • Perform installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of servers, switches, and storage devices.
  • Monitor system performance and ensure high availability and reliability.
  • Implement and manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Coordinate with vendors for equipment maintenance and support.
  • Ensure compliance with security protocols and data center best practices.
  • Perform routine audits and system health checks.
  • Support network infrastructure, cabling, and power management.
  • Document configurations, incidents, and changes in line with ITIL practices.
  • Assist in capacity planning and infrastructure upgrades.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in data center operations or infrastructure support.
  • Strong knowledge of server hardware (Dell, HP, Cisco UCS) and storage systems (NAS, SAN).
  • Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Familiarity with Windows Server, Linux, and network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
  • Understanding of data center standards (TIA-942, Uptime Institute).
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds).
  • Knowledge of backup solutions and disaster recovery planning.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in a structured, secure, and highly available environment.
