Community Outreach Coordinator

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for engaging with marginalized and vulnerable Afghan refugee communities in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, introducing our organization and its legal aid services project.

We are seeking a skilled Community Mobilizer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with displaced Afghan nationals and possess excellent communication skills in English, Urdu, and Pashtu.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct community awareness sessions on human rights, refugee rights, donor services, and international protection.
  • Identify community needs, concerns, and priorities using participatory methods.
  • Build trust and develop linkages with community leaders and influencers.
  • Organize and facilitate community meetings, workshops, and awareness sessions.
  • Mobilize and facilitate the formation of community-based volunteer groups.
  • Promote social inclusion and peaceful coexistence between refugees and host communities.
  • Liaise with government agencies, NGOs, and stakeholders to ensure access to services.
  • Collect and document community feedback to inform program development.
  • Maintain records of activities and participate in training and capacity-building.
  • Coordinate meetings with community elders and stakeholders.
  • Develop area profiles and support legal teams with assessments and social mapping.
  • Conduct field visits and surveys for project implementation.
  • Submit regular reports to the supervisor.
Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in anthropology, sociology, social work, law, development studies, or gender studies.

Experience: At least three years of community mobilization experience; experience with displaced Afghan nationals preferred.
