Technical Project Manager

Reporting to the CEO/Directors, this key leadership role is responsible for managing and coordinating resources and processes to deliver software releases of our products, while helping define the vision, definition, and strategy for the development team by driving project initiatives that deliver on company vision.

Key Job Responsibilities
  1. Plan and execute projects in PHP and open source applications, ensuring that teams have appropriate product and technical specifications, direction, and resources to deliver products effectively by establishing realistic estimates for timelines while ensuring projects remain on target to meet deadlines.
  2. Track and report the status of projects on various teams, acting as a gateway through which work should be assigned to appropriate teams while ensuring project scope is adequately defined.
  3. Demonstrate leadership abilities to clients with the deployment of software enhancements and fixes coordinated based on release schedules.
  4. Demonstrate a software plan that meets future client needs on technical challenges of industry demands.
  5. Serve as the technical lead in client meetings implementing our products.
  6. Evolve existing software system applications and architecture in various areas as needed.
  7. Help developers resolve problems both technical and human resources issues, tracking and approving vacation and personal days for employees within their teams and monitoring individual employees' performance and relaying this to upper management.
  8. Provide leadership and guidance to coach, motivate, and lead team members to optimum performance levels and career development.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Knowledge of coding in VB, .NET, ASP, PHP, etc.
  • Familiarity with databases and DBMSs like MYSQL, MSSQL Server 2002 AND SERIES, MS Access etc.
  • A minimum Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of management/ leadership experience in a software development organization required.
  • At least 1 year of experience working through the design, development, release cycle delivering software to market.
  • Large enterprise application development experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of the software development cycle.
  • Strong leadership, project management skills, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in computer programming using Visual Basic or other open source web application frameworks.
  • Project management experience desired.
  • Ability to excel in idea generation, evaluation, and prioritization, customer and partner engagement, cross-functional technical program management and building great engineering teams.
  • Experience with Crystal Reporting.
  • Development of software and hardware recovery automation tools a plus.
  • A record of successful delivery of software systems as an individual, team leader and/or development manager.
  • A willingness to dive into software environments and technical issues as part of maintaining the skills necessary to manage and advocate products and projects.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit with strong product and program management skills.
  • Ability to work with technical and non-technical business owners to get things done.
  • Excellent written and oral communication.
