About the Role:

Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy is seeking a Psychological Counsellor to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting the mental health and wellbeing of students and community members.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality mental health support services, including individual counselling and group sessions. You will work closely with education staff, community workers, and other stakeholders to ensure a holistic approach to student wellbeing.

  • Develop and facilitate MHPSS group sessions for students, addressing common psychological and emotional challenges.
  • Incorporate elements of Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) into group sessions to build resilience and improve emotional regulation.
  • Ensure that all sessions are age-appropriate, culturally sensitive, and aligned with the educational and psychosocial needs of students.
  • Provide individual counselling to students and community members who are experiencing psychological distress.
  • Assess and identify extreme cases requiring specialized support, connecting them to appropriate services.
  • Maintain confidential records of counselling sessions and ensure follow-up care for referred individuals.
  • Apply a person-centred approach, adhering to HI's principles of confidentiality, do no harm, and PSEAH.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

The successful candidate should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders. A university degree in Psychology or a related field is required, along with at least two years of experience in a mental health worker role.
