Job Summary

The Water Management Assistant will be responsible for supporting project activities under Component 1, which involves putting state-of-the-art technology in place, building farmers' resilience to climate change through skills, knowledge, and technology, and creating an enabling environment for continuous adaptation and expanded sustainable uptake of climate-resilient approaches.

This position requires coordination with provincial agriculture and water stakeholders, monitoring telemetry data, ensuring service provider documentation, organizing training events, coordinating data sharing, supporting crop mapping/monitoring using mobile apps and remote sensing, participating in technical evaluations, contributing to database updates, compiling and analyzing key performance indicators, and documenting successful stories.

Candidates will be assessed against minimum requirements: Master's degree in climatology, hydrology, or closely related field, professional experience in weather, climate, or water resources management, working knowledge of English, and nationality of Pakistan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support project activities under Component 1.
  • Coordinate with provincial agriculture and water stakeholders.
  • Monitor telemetry data and ensure service provider documentation.
  • Organize training events and coordinate data sharing.
  • Support crop mapping/monitoring using mobile apps and remote sensing.
  • Participate in technical evaluations and contribute to database updates.
  • Compile and analyze key performance indicators and document successful stories.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in climatology, hydrology, or closely related field.
  • Professional experience in weather, climate, or water resources management.
  • Working knowledge of English.
  • Nationality of Pakistan.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Sound knowledge of water management in Sindh Province.
  • Experience in working or coordinating with governmental organizations and engaging farmers.
  • Strong analytical and report writing skills.
  • Computer skills in QGIS and Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Fluency in local languages spoken in target districts.
