Job Posting: Consultant Interpreters

We are seeking highly skilled and experienced interpreter consultants to work with us in Islamabad, Pakistan. This is a fantastic opportunity for professionals who can provide accurate communication between colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret accurately and effectively during meetings, interviews, and other interactions.
  • Support interpretation services during critical sessions, such as pre-departure orientation and selection mission meetings.
  • Ensure confidentiality and maintain strict objectivity, impartiality, and neutrality when providing interpretation services.
  • Display cultural awareness and sensitivity towards language differences.
  • Notify the designated coordinator or staff member if any difficulties arise or if individuals attempt to influence your interpretation.
  • Participate in relevant training sessions and contribute to terminology lists as requested.
  • Be prepared to undergo evaluation of your interpretation skills by a third-party expert.

Requirements:

  • University degree in related fields with two years of relevant professional experience, or Secondary school degree with four years of relevant experience.
  • Proven expertise in Interpretation and/or translation activities in Dari and Pashto languages.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of resettlement program implementation and familiarity with administrative practices is an asset.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and diplomacy skills are essential for success.
  • Able to work collaboratively within an international and multicultural environment.

Languages Required:

  • Fluency in Urdu, Dari, and Pashto (Afghan dialect) for both oral and written communication.
