The role of a Graphic/Web Designer is crucial in creating a cohesive visual brand for digital courses.

This position involves designing compelling graphics, illustrations, and animations to enhance the user experience and visual appeal of courses on the Open edX platform.

  • Create visual assets for courses including thumbnails, banners, title cards, and in-video graphics, ensuring brand consistency across all platforms and courses.
  • CUSTOMIZE AND MAINTAIN WORDPRESS-BASED SITES, utilizing Elementor to build user-friendly, responsive, and visually engaging landing pages, catalogs, and course pages, ensuring cross-browser compatibility and mobile responsiveness.
  • Develop short animations and motion graphics, often in collaboration with the Audio/Video Team, to visualize complex concepts or add dynamic visual appeal.
  • Provide support for basic audio/video editing tasks, particularly for incorporating graphics, text overlays, and short animated sequences.
  • Organize and maintain a digital asset library of graphics, templates, and branding elements.
  • Collaborate with instructional designers to translate learning content into engaging visual formats, creating static and interactive visual assets that follow best practices in instructional design.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design, Web Design, Digital Media Arts, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in graphic design, web design, and UI/UX design, preferably in an educational or corporate training environment.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop), Canva, Figma, WordPress, Elementor (Pro), HTML/CSS, JavaScript (basic understanding), and multimedia tools such as Premiere Pro and Camtasia.

This position requires strong visual design skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. The successful candidate will be able to work collaboratively with instructional designers and other team members to create engaging and effective visual materials.
