Senior Children’s Storybook Character Illustrator

We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Children’s Storybook Character Illustrator to bring our stories to life through expressive, engaging, and imaginative illustrations.

You will play a central role in developing visual characters that resonate with children and align with the narrative tone and themes of each book.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop original character concepts based on story briefs and character descriptions
  • Create compelling character designs that reflect a variety of emotions, actions, and personalities
  • Illustrate full-color spreads, vignettes, and spot illustrations for children’s storybooks
  • Adapt illustration style as needed to suit different age groups (from toddlers to middle-grade readers)
  • Revise illustrations based on feedback from creative teams and stakeholders
  • Meet project deadlines and manage multiple assignments concurrently
Requirements:
  • 4+ years of professional illustration experience, with a focus on children’s books or related media
  • A strong portfolio showcasing diverse and emotionally expressive character illustrations
  • Proficiency in digital illustration tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Procreate, or similar
  • Solid understanding of storytelling, composition, color theory, and visual pacing
  • Ability to interpret briefs and translate written content into compelling visual narratives
  • Knowledge of current trends in children’s publishing and illustration
  • Degree in Illustration, Fine Arts, Animation, or a related field (preferred but not required)
Work Schedule:

Monday – Friday (11:00 am to 8:00 pm)
