Job Title: Agricultural Development Specialist
This is a dynamic opportunity to contribute to the development of agricultural initiatives in Pakistan. The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders to establish and maintain partnerships, ensuring the effective implementation of projects.
- The position involves facilitating field-level interventions for the establishment of Climate Business Field Schools, Farmer Field Schools for Women, and Climate Resilient Agriculture demonstration sites.
- The specialist will oversee the quality assurance of community outreach activities, ensuring that guidelines are followed and data is collected systematically.
- Additionally, the role involves establishing and managing demonstration plots, conducting needs assessments, and preparing meeting minutes.
- The specialist will also perform demo plot profiling, prepare reports, and contribute to the development of training and visibility materials.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills are required, along with the ability to work in a multicultural environment.
About the Role:
The Agricultural Development Specialist will play a key role in supporting the implementation of a project focused on transforming the Indus Basin through climate-resilient agriculture and water management. The specialist will work under the supervision of the GCF International Technical Adviser (Agriculture Production) and in close coordination with the Provincial Coordinator.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Facilitate field-level interventions for the establishment of Climate Business Field Schools, Farmer Field Schools for Women, and Climate Resilient Agriculture demonstration sites.
2. Oversee the quality assurance of community outreach activities, ensuring that guidelines are followed and data is collected systematically.
3. Establish and manage demonstration plots, conduct needs assessments, and prepare meeting minutes.
4. Perform demo plot profiling, prepare reports, and contribute to the development of training and visibility materials.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate should possess a Master's degree in agriculture, water management, or a related field, with at least 5 years of experience in agricultural research. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills are required, along with the ability to work in a multicultural environment.
Language Skills:
Proficiency in English is essential, with working knowledge of Urdu, Sindh, and local languages used in the province.
Nationality:
The selected candidate must be a national of Pakistan.
