As a senior academic leader, you will play a crucial role in facilitating the Head of Department to manage and supervise clinical and academic activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver curriculum-based lectures, seminars, and practical skills sessions for MBBS/BDS students, including assessment and evaluation.
  • Foster postgraduate trainees' clinical presentation, small group discussion, case-based teaching, journal clubs, psychomotor skills, and preparation for inter-module exams and dissertations.
  • Assist the Head of Department/Professor in organizing clinical meetings and conferences with other professional organizations.
  • Catalyze faculty members and postgraduate trainees in research and development through continuous education and learning environment, assisting with publication requirements as part of career development research activities.
  • Communicate knowledge on basic management of common patient care problems, including emergency treatment and decision-making for appropriate treatment, to develop clinical and practical skills of students.
  • Support the Head of Department in conducting examinations of MBBS/BDS.
  • Maintain regular OPD sessions for continuing medical care and manage/supervise new patients referred for specialist advice.
  • Conduct regular clinical rounds in the ward to manage/supervise the progress and care of indoor patients.
  • Perform medical procedures in the ward under the supervision of senior consultants and develop a monitoring mechanism to ensure all recommended diagnostics and investigations are carried out.
  • Provide specialist advice on medical problems of patients referred from other departments.
  • Evaluate patients in the emergency department if required for consultancy.
  • Ensure on-call commitments after regular duty hours to provide cover for critical patients round the clock.
  • Support the Head of Department/Professor in departmental confidential inquiries of mortalities.
  • Oversee, supervise, and train PGs/MOs/HOs and other paramedical staff to ensure delivery of quality health services and enhance patient management skills.
  • Prepare and monitor duty rota of the department, including paramedical staff, and manage and resolve staff management and placement issues.
  • Maintain close liaison with hospital administration to ensure proper ward management, including patient clinical records and routine matters related to demand, supply, and complaints.
