About the Role

The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all production operations across various departments. This includes planning, organizing, and supervising tasks to ensure timely completion of projects while maintaining quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Production Planning: Develop and implement daily production schedules for multiple sections, allocating tasks to team members as needed.
  • Quality Control: Ensure adherence to job cards, customer specifications, and internal quality standards to maintain exceptional product quality.
  • Team Management: Lead and manage a large team, assigning jobs to machine operators and supervisors, and monitoring their execution on the shop floor.
  • Maintenance: Minimize downtime by monitoring machine performance and escalating any mechanical issues to the maintenance team in a timely manner.
  • Daily Reports: Review and sign off on daily production reports, material consumption, and wastage, providing valuable insights for future improvements.
  • Coordination: Collaborate with Sales, Dispatch, and Store teams to ensure timely delivery of finished goods, maintaining strong relationships and communication.
  • Inventory Management: Work closely with the store/inventory team to monitor raw material stock levels and raise purchase alerts when necessary to avoid stockouts or overstocking.
  • Safety and Organization: Implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety measures, and 5S practices to maintain organized and efficient production areas, promoting a safe working environment.
  • Leadership: Conduct morning production meetings to review progress against weekly and monthly targets, setting clear goals and expectations for the team.
  • Training and Development: Provide training and discipline to production staff as needed to improve performance, reduce errors, and enhance overall productivity.
  • Accountability: Hold the production team accountable for attendance, job timings, and output quality, ensuring everyone meets their responsibilities.
  • Productivity Analysis: Analyze productivity metrics to identify areas for improvement, suggesting changes to cycle time, material usage, and labor efficiency to maximize output.
