Lead Software Quality Assurance Specialist

The primary role of this position involves ensuring that software programs meet user requirements and conform to established guidelines. This requires supporting, evaluating, and testing new or modified software.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Testing and Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough testing of assigned projects, including writing and executing test cases.
  • Technical Expertise: Demonstrate a strong understanding of UML diagrams and other artifacts related to software development.
  • Defect Management: Effectively manage defects by logging, reviewing, and tracking bugs.
  • Requirements Clarification: Clarify unclear or unspecified requirements by initiating discussions with relevant stakeholders.
  • Impact Analysis: Analyze the impact of changed functional requirements on the software.
  • Progress Tracking: Track progress according to set schedules.
  • Document Maintenance: Maintain up-to-date testing-related documents.
  • Test Environment Setup: Establish and maintain a suitable test environment.
  • Customer Issue Resolution: Investigate customer issues referred by technical support teams.
  • Process Documentation: Document automation processes and train QA test engineers to execute tests and interpret results.
Requirements:
  • Experience: More than 3 years of experience in software quality assurance, with exposure to the full product development cycle.
  • Commercial Test Tool Packages: Experience with commercial test tool packages in a Windows client/server environment is essential.
  • Test Design: A 'test-to-break' attitude and ability to design positive and negative test scenarios are required.
  • Collaboration and Prioritization: Collaboration, attention to detail, proactivity, and prioritization skills are necessary for success.
  • Scheduling and Estimation: Estimating task durations and meeting schedules is also crucial.
  • Agile Environment Knowledge: A detailed knowledge of Agile environments and bug tracking workflow standards is expected.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with Windows functionality, relational databases (MS SQL), and Windows .NET technologies is an asset.
