Job Description

The Quality Assurance Lead - Plant Operations is responsible for ensuring the plant's quality functions and personnel operate safely, responsibly, consistently, and cost-effectively. The successful candidate will lead all aspects of plant Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) through effective implementation and sustenance of quality standards.

About the Role
  • This leadership role involves guiding the quality teams to understand, implement, and sustain quality standards that meet customer, regulatory, and company expectations.
  • The Quality Assurance Lead will ensure the plant's execution of quality processes delivers continuous improvement in results for in-process rework/downgrades, first pass compliance (FPC) metrics, customer complaints, internal/external audit results.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead all aspects of plant QA and QC through effective implementation and sustenance of quality standards.
  2. Provide leadership and guidance to the quality teams to understand, implement, and sustain quality standards that meet customer, regulatory, and company expectations.
  3. Ensure the plant's execution of quality processes delivers continuous improvement in results for in-process rework/downgrades, first pass compliance (FPC) metrics, customer complaints, internal/external audit results.
  4. Develop and execute strategies to drive quality improvements and optimize operational efficiency.
  5. Foster a culture of quality excellence within the plant by promoting awareness, training, and open communication.
  6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality-related issues and improve overall plant performance.
Requirements
  • Masters degree or higher preferably in a Quality, Engineering, Science, or Food Technology discipline.
  • A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in a management role with relevant experience in quality assurance, quality control, continuous improvement, or supplier management.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop high-performing quality teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proven ability to work cross-functionally within operations and innovation.
  • Experience in leading strategies and implementing standards to drive improvement.
  • Ability to balance Ingredion quality standards with cost impacts to the plant without jeopardizing the company reputation.
  • Data-driven approach with the ability to utilize data to make decisions to improve quality and minimize complexity/reduce costs.
