Key Responsibilities

As a Clinical Chemistry Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing a patient database/registry to track referrals, specimens, consultations, and lab results
  • Planning, developing, and conducting training programs for health professionals and patients/families
  • Developing clinical history forms for genetic/inherited disorders
  • Assisting in the development of policies and procedures for newborn screening and high-risk screening programs

You will also be expected to stay up-to-date with current literature and public policy issues in newborn screening and high-risk screening.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A PhD in Biochemistry/ Genetics with experience working in a Mass-Spectrometric laboratory
  • Expertise in analyzing samples using mass spectrometry and chromatography-based instruments
  • Strong skills in analyzing and interpreting complex data sets generated by mass spectrometry and chromatography-based instruments
