We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Professor to join our academic team.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, research, and administrative tasks. They will work collaboratively with colleagues to facilitate learning and implement the academic plan of the faculty.

  1. Meet annual targets assigned by the Head of Department/Principal.
  2. Work towards targets set by the Dean/Principal of the University to ensure a high-quality teaching and learning environment for students.
  3. Teach assigned courses as per faculty workload policy.
  4. Continuously develop teaching and learning skills and contribute to the planning of teaching programs.
  5. Employ innovative teaching strategies and facilitate experiential learning during lessons.
  6. Challenge thinking, foster debate, and develop students' ability to engage in critical discourse and rational thinking.
  7. Supervise student projects, field trips, and placements where appropriate.
  8. Set, mark, and assess work and examinations; provide feedback to students.
  9. Maintain records of students' academic progress for internal evaluation in examinations.
  10. Mentor 15 to 20 students as per the Riphah Mentoring Program.
  11. Update data in Virtual Learning Environment and other required software as per requirements.
  12. Incorporate Islamic and ethical values in teaching.
  13. Participate in departmental and university committee activities.
  14. Ensure teaching content and methods align with RIU mission and address issues related to subordinates and students' needs.
  15. Supervise or randomly check student attendance in classes, labs, and practicals.
  16. Contribute to publications or disseminate research findings through appropriate media.
  17. Seek practical applications for research findings.
  18. Promote new and applied knowledge through peer-reviewed publications.
  19. Conduct independent research as a principal investigator and project leader.
  20. Serve as a referee and contribute to peer assessment.
  21. Act as a line manager, supervising others' work, including research teams, projects, or PhD students when required.
  22. Perform any additional duties assigned by the HOD within the scope of this job.
