Senior Data Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a talented Principal Data Engineer to join our Data Engineering Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining complex data management systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring high-quality data delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of complex data management systems, combining multiple data sources into data warehouses, cloud data lakes, data science platforms, or other accessible structures.
  • Work closely with data architecture, enterprise integration, data governance, and compliance teams to guarantee smooth data flow and adherence to industry standards.
  • Analyze business processes to create requirements, specifications, and system solution designs, working closely with engineering team members to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Develop and enforce best practices for data management, adhering to architectural standards, security, and compliance.
  • Expert knowledge of relational databases, data warehouses, and SQL skills, with a focus on data integration, data pipeline, and data delivery.
  • Implement data reliability, efficiency, and quality improvements, recommending process enhancements as needed.
  • Maintain and optimize data pipelines, creating, updating, and monitoring workloads from development to production.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in science, statistics, engineering, business administration, or similar field of study.
  • At least 14 years of experience building and scaling data platforms.
  • Expert knowledge of data replication and data integration tools (e.g., Informatica, Attunity, AWS DMS).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Experience in software delivery through continuous integration (e.g., git, bitbucket, Jenkins).
