**Job Title:** Education Welfare Officer

Description:

We are seeking a dedicated individual to fill the role of Education Welfare Officer, responsible for ensuring that children of compulsory school age receive education.

The postholder will be responsible for collecting data on underprivileged families and maintaining confidential records of support for all students referred. They will also ensure that all children in receipt of education and provide them with necessary support to return to full-time education where needed.

To succeed in this role, you will require strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to form good working relationships with a range of internal and external colleagues. Additionally, familiarity with the surrounding area and the best method of traveling is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertaking statutory duties and responsibilities related to the Education Welfare Service.
  • Collecting data on underprivileged families and maintaining confidential records.
  • Ensuring all children of compulsory school age receive education.
  • Supporting children to return to full-time education.
  • Working directly with schools to reduce school absence and improve attendance.

Requirements:

  • Experience in a similar role working with schools and other services within an educational setting.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with the surrounding area and the best method of traveling.
