Healthcare Backend Architect

We are seeking a highly skilled professional for our healthcare IT division who possesses a passion for software and related technologies.

Job Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to work as a backend architect in our healthcare IT team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for designing and developing large-scale web applications that meet the needs of our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build scalable and maintainable solutions.
  • Design and develop complex database schemas and queries to efficiently retrieve data from the MongoDB database.
  • Write modular code in Java or Node.js and integrate it with other systems and applications.
  • Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks to ensure code quality through continuous integration and deployment.
  • Have experience in developing XML/JSON-based web services.
  • Sound API design and knowledge of HTTP principles are vital to providing robust services for our clients.
  • Design and develop backend services, APIs, and databases that support healthcare IT applications.
  • Review and ensure the development and coding of Java programs and systems meet industry standards.
  • Understand MongoDB, RESTful APIs, OAuth, and JSON. Have a good understanding of data security and privacy regulations such as HIPAA.
  • Research and evaluate new technology to solve complex problems.
  • Perform post-implementation reviews to determine if the system objectives were achieved.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in backend development, with strong experience in Java or Node.js.
  • Strong experience in database design and development with MongoDB, with experience with PostgreSQL a plus.
  • Strong understanding of data security and privacy regulations such as HIPAA.
  • Experience with FHIR is highly preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

This is a full-time remote position as an independent contractor.
