Food Development Lead

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop new food product ideas aligned with market trends and consumer demands.
  2. Analyse market trends, competitor products, and consumer preferences to identify opportunities for product innovation and improvements.
  3. Create and refine food product recipes considering factors like taste, texture, appearance, and nutritional content.
  4. Maintain awareness of food safety regulations to ensure all product development activities meet legal and regulatory requirements.
  5. Optimize ingredient costs while maintaining product quality and taste.
  6. Work closely with the Quality Control team to establish quality control procedures ensuring consistency and safety in the production process.
  7. Organize sensory panels to assess product attributes, make improvements, and gather consumer feedback.
  8. Manage the end-to-end product development process from concept through to launch.
  9. Collaborate with the Manufacturing team to scale up the production process from lab-scale to commercial production.
  10. Identify and evaluate potential suppliers for ingredients and raw materials, ensuring they meet quality and safety standards.
  11. Collaborate with Supply Chain and Manufacturing to explore sustainable ingredient sourcing and production methods reducing environmental impact.
  12. Maintain comprehensive records of recipe formulations, ingredient specifications, quality control procedures, and regulatory compliance documentation.
  13. Continuously seek to improve existing products and processes enhancing product quality, reducing costs, and increasing efficiency.
  14. Conduct research on emerging trends in the food industry to assist in new strategic initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  1. Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline with 3-5 years of experience.
  2. Or Postgraduate degree in a relevant discipline with 1-2 years of experience.
