As a Medical Officer, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the hospital's mission of delivering exceptional healthcare services. In this role, you will be responsible for performing assessments and reassessments of patients, identifying urgent care cases, and managing them in a timely manner.

Responsibilities
  • Perform evidence-based practice to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
  • Calculate correct dosages and provide medication prescriptions accordingly.
  • Evaluate patient conditions and make changes to treatment plans as necessary.
  • Refer patients to other relevant health facilities as needed.
  • Continuously enhance competencies in a clinical setting under the supervision of Consultants and other faculty and staff.
  • Participate in educational activities, such as CMEs, Grand Rounds, and Journal Clubs.
  • Maintain awareness of infection control practices and follow protocols in the workplace.
  • Support teaching activities for undergraduate medical students.
  • Provide administrative support as assigned by the department.
Requirements

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • A MBBS degree from a recognized university, with a preferred additional diploma or MCPS in a relevant field.
  • At least ten years of post-MBBS experience in related areas, or eight years with an additional diploma or MCPS.
  • The ability to understand patient perspectives and maintain continuous open communication with faculty, staff, patients, and their families.
  • The capacity to make informed decisions, weigh factors, and develop solutions that address root causes and prevent recurrence.
  • The ability to act quickly in crisis situations and draw on appropriate resources.
  • The capacity to counsel patients and adapt content, style, tone, and medium to suit target audiences' language, cultural background, and level of understanding.
