Job Title: Senior Valuation Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Valuation Specialist to join our team.

About the Role:
  • This role involves reviewing and evaluating the valuation of complex financial instruments, including derivatives, for audit purposes.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring accurate reporting of derivatives and hedge transactions, including interest rate swaps, FX and currency swaps, credit default swaps, and other complex financial instruments.
  • Providing expertise in valuing various financial instruments, such as corporate bonds, treasury bills, debt securities, loan interest, and equity securities.
  • Assessing and documenting hedge effectiveness for different types of hedges, including fair value hedges.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Review and evaluate the valuation of complex financial instruments, including forward currency contracts, future contracts, FX spot, and forward deals.
  2. Expected Credit Loss (ECL).
  3. Options, warrants, and share-based payments.
  4. Fixed income securities and tranches.
  5. Other derivatives, including Employee Stock Options (ESOPS).
  6. Total Shareholder Return (TSR) and Convertible Bonds.
  7. Bonds with embedded options and Sukuk.
  8. Derivative Strategies and Structured Derivatives.
  9. Simple Agreement for Future Equity (SAFE) notes.
  10. Credit Linked Notes (CLN).
  11. Incremental Borrowing Rate (IBR).
  12. Develop and maintain complex financial models using techniques such as Monte Carlo simulation, Black-Derman-Toy model, lattice techniques, and finite difference methods.
  13. Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, including IFRS 9 (Financial Instruments) and IFRS 13 (Fair Value Measurement).

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A postgraduate degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting (CA), or Business with 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • At least 5 years of direct experience in valuation techniques and methodologies in a business valuation firm, venture capital, investment banking, or financial research.
  • Experience in financial modeling, particularly in building models from scratch in MS Excel.
