About the Role:
The Department of Surgery at a reputable university is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Senior Surgical Oncology Fellow to join their team. The selected candidate will work closely with experienced faculty members to provide comprehensive care to patients with cancer.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform initial patient assessments, document findings, and follow up on patients under consultant supervision.
- Attend to emergency calls from the ER promptly and perform quick assessments with management plans in consultation with senior fellows and consultants.
- Assist or perform operative procedures in the OR under supervision and document them accurately.
- Perform procedures independently or under supervision as per competency levels.
- Conduct daily ward rounds with the team, communicate findings, and present assessment and treatment plans to consultants.
- Be available on premises during call hours and address all patient-related issues in the ER or ward.
- Hand over and take charge from departing teams when duties change.
- Facilitate learning among students, interns, residents, and other healthcare professionals.
- Design clinical research appropriate to training levels.
- MBBS degree from an institution recognized by PMDC.
- FCPS Part II or equivalent in General Surgery.
- Four years of training in General Surgery from an accredited programme.
- Competence in common general surgical procedures.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
