Job Description:
As a Strategic Procurement Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely availability of materials for our manufacturing process. Your primary responsibility will be to manage the purchase of inventory items as per established policies and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Source quotations, negotiate prices, and review purchase orders and bank documents to procure imported/local materials.
  2. Coordinate clearance of consignments by working closely with local regulatory bodies and clearing agents.
  3. Streamline shipment receiving and handing over.
  4. Obtain import permissions from the relevant authorities.
  5. Facilitate audits of vendors.
  6. Develop alternate sources of materials.
  7. Devising contingency plans to address delays/loss in the production process.
  8. Coordinate with Quality Control for approval of receiving reports.
  9. Verify supplier/agent bills for finance.
  10. Maintain proper documentation of approvals and rejections.
  11. Prepare cost analyses.
  12. Review purchasing policy and guidelines to provide non-inventory items for smooth day-to-day operations.
  13. Analyze, identify, and communicate information regarding purchase orders using out-of-network vendors; identify, research, and resolve problems relating to purchasing issues.

Requirements:
- 3-5 years of experience in a similar role within the pharmaceutical industry is considered an asset.
- Strong communication skills are essential.
- Effective negotiation skills are necessary.
- Sound knowledge of customs laws and applicable duties & taxes is required.
- Good understanding of the relevant regulations is necessary.
- Familiarity with banking procedures involved in importing materials/drugs is required.
- Good computer skills are essential.
- Time management skills are necessary.
- Good market knowledge is essential.
- Knowledge of product and service purchasing policies and practices is necessary.
- Ability to organize resources and establish priorities.
- Strong skills in using personal computers and related software applications.
- Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
- Developing and maintaining recordkeeping systems, procedures, and reports.
