Art Teacher Job Description

We are seeking a qualified and experienced educator to join our team as an art teacher. The ideal candidate will have the ability to develop engaging lesson plans and provide instruction on various art techniques in a supportive and respectful manner.

The art teacher will be responsible for fostering creativity and self-expression among students, while also being attentive to any signs of distress in their personal lives. To achieve this, they should be able to plan lessons that meet students' learning objectives, develop their drawing, coloring, and painting skills, and provide instruction on the use of different media.

  • Plan Lessons: Develop and implement lesson plans on art and art history in accordance with students' learning objectives
  • Prepare Classrooms: Gather and set up equipment, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment
  • Develop Student Skills: Teach students various art techniques, including drawing, coloring, and painting, and provide instruction on the use of different media
  • Instruct Art History: Teach students about the history of art, its significance, and its impact on society
  • Assign and Grade Projects: Assign projects and examinations to assess students' understanding of art concepts and techniques
  • Record Progress: Record and report on students' progress, identifying areas of strength and weakness
  • Maintain Classrooms: Clean the classroom after each lesson, maintaining a tidy and organized workspace
  • Sourcing Supplies: Monitor inventory and source art supplies as needed, ensuring adequate materials for lessons
  • Meetings: Attend faculty and parent-teacher meetings, providing updates on student progress and addressing concerns
