Job Overview:

The Structural Plate Welding Specialist is a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of structural components used in shipbuilding and heavy engineering.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform advanced welding techniques, including GTAW and SMAW, on thick steel and alloy plates to achieve defect-free welds suitable for X-ray inspection.
  • Prepare plate surfaces before welding, conduct thorough post-weld inspections, and perform X-ray tests to verify weld quality.
  • Adhere to strict shipyard safety protocols, including confined space and elevated work safety, to maintain a secure work environment.
  • Set up, operate, and maintain welding equipment, ensuring it meets required specifications.
  • Record inspection results and welding details, and report any issues affecting quality or safety.
Qualifications:
  • Diploma or certification in Welding or Metal Fabrication.
  • At least 3 years of experience in X-ray grade plate welding.
  • Proficiency in multiple welding techniques, X-ray inspection, and quality standards.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in challenging conditions.
