Job Overview

This role is responsible for monitoring cybersecurity events via security tools such as SIEM, EDR, etc., to identify potential cyber incidents and engage stakeholders for timely response to mitigate security threats.

The Specialist Security Operations Center reports directly to the Stream Head Cyber Security and supervises an extended team of 10 members.

  • Monitor incoming event queues for potential security incidents, perform initial investigations, and escalate or close events accordingly.
  • Manage Jazz SOC ticket queues and maintain shift logs.
  • Document investigation results and pass relevant details to Tier 2 analysts.
  • Update and reference Jazz SOC collaboration tools, ingest daily intelligence reports, and review previous logs.
  • Conduct security research on emerging threats and exploits.
  • Perform auxiliary monitoring responsibilities as outlined in procedures.

This Tier 1 role supports:

  • Active list monitoring
  • 24/7 Jazz SOC health monitoring
  • Escalation and notification processes

Key Responsibilities

">

The ideal candidate will have experience with SIEM tools, TCP/IP protocols, network devices, firewalls, NIPS, and operating systems like UNIX, Linux, Windows.

">

Familiarity with ITSM tools and intrusion detection technologies is also required.

">

The selected candidate must possess strong analytical skills for security event analysis, problem-solving, teamwork, and working under pressure.

">

A willingness to work 24/7 on a shift basis is essential.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

">
  • BE/MS in Information Security, Software, Telecoms with 2-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Organizational, planning, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot using KB articles.
  • Knowledge of security policies.
  • Strong analytical skills for security event analysis.
  • Problem-solving, teamwork, and working under pressure.
  • Willingness to work 24/7 on shift basis.
  • Experience with SIEM tools, TCP/IP protocols, network devices, firewalls, NIPS, and operating systems like UNIX, Linux, Windows.
  • Familiarity with ITSM tools and intrusion detection technologies.
  • Skills in vulnerability recognition, trend analysis, and applying cybersecurity principles.
