Chief Medical Information Officer Role Summary

We are seeking two Chief Medical Information Officers (CMIO) to lead our efforts in planning, implementing, and optimizing medical information technology systems. One CMIO will be based in Nairobi, Kenya, and the other in Karachi, Pakistan.

About the Position

The CMIOs will provide strategic leadership in the development and implementation of clinical information technology systems, ensuring they support high-quality patient care, medical education, research, and clinical information technology strategic plans.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement a comprehensive plan for all medical information technology systems to support healthcare professionals in delivering high-quality patient care.
  2. Evaluate and ensure effective user support and education for EHR systems adoption, including continuous education and involvement of physicians, nurses, and other health professionals.
  3. Drive continuous improvement of quality and impact of medical information systems and data, participating in quality improvement and patient safety committees and collaborating with clinical leadership, EHR, and IT teams.
Required Qualifications and Skills

To succeed as a Chief Medical Information Officer, you will need:

  1. A strong background in medicine, preferably with an additional Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Clinical Informatics, or Computer Science.
  2. Certification in Clinical Informatics is preferred.
  3. No less than 10 years of experience in clinical settings, with a minimum of 3 years' experience in leadership, information technology management, or clinical informatics.
  4. Extensive knowledge and practical experience with electronic health information systems.
  5. A proven track record of accomplishments in management, particularly involving collaborative successful work with healthcare professionals.
  6. Excellent interpersonal, communication, leadership, and change management skills.
