Expert Medical Claim Processor

This is a unique opportunity to work as a medical billing specialist. We are looking for a skilled professional to collaborate with our team in insurance payments, entering charges for surgeries and other services, assisting patients with their accounts and health claims related to follow-up, denials, and appeals.
Main focus is on billing insurance follow up.
- Verify that proper documentation is occurring in the facility's billing system.
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation and submission of billing information and posting payments received.
- Communicate with insurance companies regarding any discrepancy in payments if necessary.
- Prepare, review, and transmit claims using billing software.
- Ensure all claims are submitted with a goal of zero errors.
- Familiarize yourself with proper medical and insurance claim processes.
- Monitor unpaid claims and follow up or re-bill as needed to ensure timely payment.
- Assist the lead medical biller and fellow billing staff in submitting accurate claims.
- Review claims, invoices, sort claims by primary and secondary insurance and access patients in the system to identify necessary attachments.
- Hold an associate or bachelor's degree in a finance-related field.
- Possess certification in billing (preferable).
- Working hours: Monday – Friday.
- Job timings: 6 pm – 3 am.
The ideal candidate should possess:
- Effective communication skills in English; both oral and written.
- General knowledge of federal payer program regulations and guidelines.
- The ability to interpret a variety of communications (verbal, non-verbal, written, listening and visual).
- A solid understanding of medical billing practices and billing reimbursement.
- Maintain confidentiality, discretion, and caution when handling sensitive information.
- A proven working experience in the same industry for at least a year.
- The ability to accurately perform simple mathematical calculations.
- A sense of urgency and responsiveness to physicians, location employees, and patients.
Tech Requirements
- Excellent email transmission and written/verbal communication skills.
- Internet navigation and research.
- Microsoft applications; Word and Excel.
- Familiarity with Electronic Health Record systems or patient management software, Office Ally and aging reports.
