Job Title: Data Infrastructure Specialist

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our team. This role is critical in organizing, managing, and analyzing our data infrastructure to support innovative product solutions. As a developer in this space, you'll work cross-functionally with engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to ensure seamless data flow and scalable systems.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in designing, developing, and implementing robust data pipelines using ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes. They will also be responsible for writing and optimizing high-performance SQL queries to support data transformations and reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement robust data pipelines using ETL processes
  • Write and optimize high-performance SQL queries to support data transformations and reporting
  • Lead the management and optimization of our Snowflake data warehouse; strong expertise in columnar data stores is a must
  • Define and maintain data quality checks and monitoring frameworks
  • Partner closely with data scientists and analysts to ensure data accessibility and usability
  • Develop interactive visualizations and dashboards using Power BI or Tableau
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field—or equivalent work experience
  • 7+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role with increasing leadership responsibilities
  • Strong command of SQL and deep understanding of relational and columnar databases
  • Solid experience building ETLs with Python or similar high-level programming languages
  • Expertise in Snowflake is highly preferred
  • Good grasp of cloud-based platforms, preferably AWS, but GCP or Azure is also relevant
  • Hands-on experience with data visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent (preferred)
  • Familiarity with Terraform or other IaC tools is a plus
  • Strong analytical thinking and a passion for solving data challenges
  • Clear communication skills and a collaborative mindset
  • (Nice to have) Knowledge of the mortgage lending industry
