Job Overview

Crisis intervention specialists play a vital role in providing support to individuals experiencing emotional distress or crisis situations. This position involves working remotely to offer confidential and empathetic assistance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide callers with free, short-term emotional support and crisis intervention services, utilizing active listening techniques to de-escalate mental health issues.
  • Respond to inquiries via phone, text, and chat, adhering to established procedures and best practices while providing critical resources and support.
  • Complete detailed call reports and contact documentation accurately, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
Requirements
  • Commit to regularly scheduled full-time shifts, encompassing either night shift, day shift, or a combination of both.
  • Maintain a reliable laptop/computer with secure and private internet connection, ensuring uninterrupted work flow.
  • Demonstrate exceptional computer skills, including online reporting, email management, and utilization of internal search databases.
  • Evaluate the necessity of maintaining confidentiality and discretion in all interactions.
Training and Support

Specialists will undergo comprehensive training in crisis counseling, information & referral, and suicide prevention methodologies. The VIA LINK crisis intervention model will be employed, and agency-provided laptops will facilitate continued work efficiency.
