Job Title: Supply Chain Manager

Role Summary:

The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for maintaining a strategic fit between the company's competitive strategy and supply chain management. This role involves planning, coordinating, and controlling the flow of goods, services, and information from raw materials to end customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Production Planning:
    • Plan and schedule production activities to meet demand and minimize inventory levels.
    • Manage material requirements planning, purchasing, and inventory control to ensure timely shipment of finished goods.
    • Develop and implement lean tools and improved planning processes to reduce inventory and improve efficiency.
  • Inventory Control:
    • Manage inventory levels for all chemicals, packing materials, general and raw materials on a weekly and monthly basis using Oracle 9i software.
    • Execute management information systems to keep inventory losses/differences below goal levels.
    • Ensure timely reconciliation of inventory records and conduct random checks/audits.
  • Daily Operational Management:
    • Oversee the effective operation of logistics areas and work with store and marketing organizations to ensure smooth flow of goods to and from the warehouse.
    • Collaborate with quality, production, shipping/receiving, customer service, production planning manager, and national supply chain manager to achieve corporate and site objectives.
  • Procedure and Process Development/Implementation:
    • Identify, develop, and implement necessary procedures to ensure proper fleet and carrier activities are performed.
    • Ensure carrier level of service requirements are met.
  • Procurement:
    • Develop and operate a procurement function that provides best-in-class expertise and cost-effective purchasing services.
    • Explore new suppliers to assure highest quality, lowest prices, and best availability of products and services.
    • Issue purchase orders to suppliers based on specification and requirement of the company.
  • Warehousing:
    • Maintain and efficiently oversee warehousing facilities for storage of shipments and company assets.
    • Ensure adequate equipment and trained staff and resources are available.
    • Arrange training sessions for warehouse staff to improve performance.
  • Safety and Accident Prevention:
    • Establish and maintain a safe and healthy work environment in the yard.
    • Provide safety awareness among team members through continuous communication, education, and positive reinforcement of safe work practices.
    • Ensure work areas are hazard-free, clean, and orderly at all times.
  • Facility Management:
    • Facilitate finance department in preparing annual budget, material consumption reports, and calculation of average cost prices of finished goods.
    • Manage planners, purchasing and inventory analysts' personnel.
    • Responsible for training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; coaching and mentoring, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • ISO 9000 Quality Management System:
    • Implement the ISO 9000 quality management system and statistical techniques.
