A Physical Therapist plays a crucial role in assisting adults and children in improving their physical and neurological disabilities. This includes restoring physical functions, minimizing pain, and disability of patients through psychological, social, and vocational interventions.

The therapist will be responsible for assessing patients to develop and deliver individualized physical therapy treatment programs. Conducting perceptual psychosocial activities and instrumental activities of daily living is also an essential part of this role.

Effective communication skills are necessary for liaising with medical personnel in daily ward rounds and with peers in the outpatient rehabilitation department. Educating and advising patients and their families regarding the diagnosed condition, the treatment plan, the expected prognosis, and the short and long-term goals is also required.

To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate should have a DPT in Physical Therapy from a recognized university and a minimum of one year's experience as a Physical Therapist or one year of traineeship, preferably in a hospital. Strong knowledge of physical therapy theory, techniques, and equipment is essential.
