Language Consultant for Resettlement Program

This role is for an interpreter who will work with IOM staff members, beneficiaries, and selection mission personnel. The interpreter will provide communication services in a common language during interviews, pre-departure orientation sessions, and other meetings.
Key Responsibilities:- Support accurate communication between parties by providing verbatim interpretation services in Urdu, Dari, and Pashto.
- Provide interpretation services in the preferred language of the beneficiaries without paraphrasing or summarizing information.
- Maintain confidentiality during interpretation sessions and follow designated program procedures.
- Remain objective, unbiased, and impartial when providing interpretation services.
- University degree in related fields with two years of relevant professional experience or secondary school degree with four years of relevant experience.
- Experience in interpretation and/or translation activities in Dari and Pashto.
- Knowledge of resettlement program implementation and familiarity with IOM's administrative, financial, and business rules and practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and diplomacy skills.
- Proven ability to work as part of a team in an international and multicultural environment.
- IOM's official languages are English, French, and Spanish.
- Fluency in Urdu, Dari, and Pashto (Afghan dialect) (oral and written).
