UK Tax Accounting Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented tax professional to join our team as a UK Tax Accounting Specialist. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of UK tax regulations and accounting standards, with a proven track record of working with UK-based clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and file UK personal and corporate tax returns, including VAT, PAYE, CIS, and Corporation Tax.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in compliance with UK tax legislation.
  • Manage bookkeeping tasks, with a specific focus on the construction sector (including CIS compliance).
  • Liaise directly with UK clients, providing tax planning, advisory, and compliance support.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, process invoices, and maintain general ledgers.
  • Utilize accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, Xero, and Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
  • Support clients during HMRC audits and respond to HMRC inquiries when needed.
  • Assist in the preparation of year-end financial statements and reports.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • ACCA Affiliate or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Minimum 3 to 4 years of experience in UK tax accounting and client management.
  • Proficient in Sage, QuickBooks, Xero, and Excel.
  • In-depth knowledge of UK tax regulations and the construction industry's bookkeeping requirements, including CIS (Construction Industry Scheme).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage multiple client relationships.
  • Attention to detail, analytical mindset, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
