As a data engineering specialist, you will play a crucial role in building and maintaining the data technology stack that drives our digital products and strategies. This is a fast-paced environment where you will collaborate with a talented team to design, develop, and deploy data solutions that meet business requirements.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Architecture and Modeling: Gain a deep understanding of our brand and enterprise data warehouse/reporting requirements to inform the data architecture and modeling approach. Construct ETL processes, database queries, and data/permission models that support data aggregation and reporting on actionable insights.
  • Code Development: Write efficient, organized, simple, and scalable code that meets business needs. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to continuously improve your skills.
  • Troubleshooting and Debugging: Identify and resolve complex technical issues through effective debugging and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Delivering Quality Results: Work collaboratively with the team to deliver end-to-end JIRA user stories that meet quality expectations.
  • BI Tools and Semantic Layer Models: Familiarize yourself with BI tools and create semantic layer models for business users. Participate in QA testing for data pipeline projects and implementation changes to analytical tools.
  • Monitoring and SLAs: Monitor batch data loads to ensure they meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Respond promptly to production issues and implement effective resolutions.
  • Team Collaboration: Thrive in a team-based environment and demonstrate flexibility to work in a second shift setting.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Information Technology.
  • Experience: 5-8 years of experience in data engineering with a strong background in programming languages such as SQL, Python, and AWS Glue.
  • Database Experience: Strong experience with MPP databases like Teradata and Snowflake. Knowledge of SAP supply chain, APO, Order management, Trade spends, promotions, POS, Royalty, Forecasting, and cash collections.
  • AWS Cloud Services: Experience with AWS cloud services including Kinesis, Lambda, IAM Policies, and Code Deploy. Familiarity with public/private API integration, web scraping, and data streaming architecture.
  • Software Delivery: Experienced in software delivery through continuous integration using tools like Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins, and Redwood.
  • Automation and Scheduling Tools: Familiarity with automation and scheduling tools such as Airflow and Linux/Unix environment.
  • Business Content Interchange (BCI): Knowledge of BCI is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Public Speaking and Presentation Skills: Experience with public speaking and presentation skills.
  • DBT Experience: Experience with DBT is preferred.
