About the Role:

  • The Lead Software Engineering Manager will be responsible for leading a team of software engineers to deliver exceptional outcomes and develop innovative software solutions.
  • They will own the full product development lifecycle, from conception to delivery, and work closely with internal stakeholders to understand their problems and build novel solutions.
  • The successful candidate will serve as the technical advocate for users, synthesizing their needs to develop Research and Applied Product/Engineering roadmaps.
  • They will also act as the primary technical escalation point for the team, fostering trust and maintaining direct communication with executive-level stakeholders.
  • The Lead Software Engineering Manager will validate, synthesize, and deliver high-signal feedback to the Product and Research teams.

Requirements:

  • The successful candidate will have 6+ years of experience as a software engineer or product engineer, with experience in incubator/lab environments delivering ideas from prototypes to production highly valued.
  • They will have 2+ years of experience leading technical teams, with a demonstrated ability to hire, develop, and manage technical talent.
  • The Lead Software Engineering Manager must have built and/or delivered prototypes on top of an API platform.
  • They will own problems end-to-end and be willing to pick up whatever knowledge they're missing to get the job done.
  • The successful candidate will have a humble attitude, an eagerness to help colleagues, and a desire to do whatever it takes to make the team succeed.
  • They will be an effective, high-throughput operator who can drive concurrent projects and prioritize ruthlessly.
